Congratulations to Madison’s Ryan Taylor
At the Math Counts Regional competition, the Madison Team placed 6th and was invited to attend the state competition. At the New Mexico State competition, we earned 5th place and Ryan Taylor won the 4th individual place which earned him a seat on the New Mexico State Team which attended Nationals in Orlando, Florida in May. At Nationals, the New Mexico Math Counts team placed 15th out of 56 teams and received “The Most Improved Award” for the second year. Ryan’s Math teacher is Ms. Sandra Daffron.
Seventh grader Ryan Taylor won this Year’s Madison Geography Bee. This was Ryan’s second consecutive Geography Bee win at Madison. The win again helped him qualify for the Finals of the New Mexico Geography Bee that was held in April. At that event Ryan finished fifth in the state. The winner goes on to Washington D. C. to participate in the Nationals. Ryan has one more shot next year to qualify for that honor. We at Madison are so very proud of Ryan Taylor’s accomplishments.
